What you’re buying, in plain english.
The Monthly Read · Last updated 16 August 2026
This is the whole agreement. There’s no second document, no signature and no 12 page contract. Paying for The Monthly Read means you’ve read this and you accept it, so read it before you pay. If a line in here doesn’t work for your business, email me first and we’ll sort it out.
01Who you’re dealing with
Topham & Co Pty Ltd, ABN 19 651 331 770, trading as Ash Topham. An Australian company. In here, “I” is me and “you” is the business paying.
02What you get
Once, at the start
- An audit of 12 months of your ad account, written up.
- A video of me walking through the account, so you can see what I saw.
- Your accounts connected and your private report link set up.
Then every month
- One written read on that same link. What changed, what caused it, and what to do about it.
- Your return on ad spend week by week, against the return you need to break even at your margin.
- Which ads and which messages are pulling sales, and which have worn out.
- Where people leak out between the ad and the checkout, and which leak costs you most.
- Anything still spending that’s stopped working, and the dollars a day it’s burning.
- Whether Meta’s numbers match your store’s, and whether the gap is normal or broken.
- Which organic post to turn into your next ad.
- What to do next, in order of what will move the numbers most.
Your first read lands within 14 days of me having both things I need: your onboarding form and access to the account. After that it’s one read a month.
If nothing’s wrong that month, I write that down, and you still get what to watch next. That’s a read, not a gap.
One ad account per subscription. More accounts is more money, quoted and agreed before I start.
03What it isn’t
- I don’t touch your account. No changes, no new campaigns, no budget moves, no creative. Read only, both in what I’m asked for and in the access I hold. If you want the account run, that’s ad management and it’s a separate agreement at a different price.
- No guaranteed results. I sell you an understanding of what your account is doing and what to do next. The decisions stay yours, and so does the outcome.
- It isn’t financial, legal or tax advice, and it isn’t a promise that Meta’s platform, policies or reporting will stay the way they are.
04What I need from you
- The onboarding form, filled in. It arrives by email straight after payment.
- View only access to the ad account, the page and the pixel or dataset, granted from your own Business Manager. You own all of it, and you can revoke it in one click at any time.
- Your store numbers: revenue, and the margin I’ll be reading your return against. Tell me when the margin changes, because every break-even figure in the report moves with it.
- An answer when I ask you something, within a few days.
If I can’t see the account, I can’t read it. A month I can’t work because access was never granted, or got revoked, or the form never came back, is still a month you’ve paid for. Tell me before it happens and I’ll pause the billing where I can.
05What it costs
Month to month
- A$900 once, for the audit, the walkthrough and the setup. Charged the day you sign up.
- Then A$350 a month, starting 30 days after you sign up, on the same card, through Stripe.
- It runs until you cancel. There’s no minimum term and no lock in.
6 months upfront
- A$2,600 once, covering months 1 to 7. That’s A$500 setup, 6 months at A$350, and a free 7th month.
- It isn’t a subscription. Nothing renews on its own, so there’s nothing to cancel. Near month 7 I’ll ask whether you want to keep going.
Both
- All prices are Australian dollars and include GST. You get a tax invoice for every payment.
- If a card fails I’ll tell you. Reads pause until it clears, and pick up where they stopped.
- I can change the monthly price with 30 days’ notice by email. Months you’ve already prepaid stay at the price you paid.
06Stopping
- Month to month, cancel any time. No notice period, no exit fee, no phone call. Cancel before the next charge and there is no next charge. You keep the reads for every month you’ve paid for.
- Months already paid aren’t refunded, including the A$900 once the audit has started.
- Prepaid months aren’t refundable. That’s the trade for the lower price, and it’s why the 6 month option is only worth taking if you’re sure.
- I can stop too, with 30 days’ notice, and I refund every month you’ve paid for and not received. If I’m ever asked to write something that isn’t true, I’ll stop that day and refund the same way.
07Your data, and who sees it
- Your report sits on a private link. It isn’t indexed and it isn’t linked from anywhere on this site.
- I don’t share your account data, your numbers or your reports with anyone.
- I use your data for one thing: writing your reads.
- If I ever want to show your report as an example, even with the name taken off, I ask you in writing first and I take a no as a no.
- When we stop, I hand back or delete what I hold, minus the invoices and records the ATO requires me to keep for 5 years. You revoke my access at your end, in one click.
- The rest of it is in the privacy policy.
08Who owns what
Your reports are yours. Use them however you want inside your business, send them to your team, your accountant, whoever you like. Don’t resell or publish them without asking me. The templates, the method and the way the reports are built stay mine, including the general lessons I take into other work.
09If something goes wrong
Tell me first. Most of it gets fixed in one email, and I’d rather fix it than have you quietly cancel.
You have rights under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t be excluded, and nothing here tries to. Beyond those rights, what I owe you is capped at what you’ve paid me in the last 3 months, and I’m not liable for lost profit or for what happens in your account after you act on a read. This agreement is governed by the law of New South Wales.
10Changes to this page
I can update this. If a change actually affects you, I’ll email you before it applies to your account. The date at the top is the version you’re looking at.
